Fresh Coat (of paint)
I have finally got my macbook updated and my new website up. Sorry it has been a long while for those of you who have been viewing my previous portfolios and blogs. Thank you all for your support. I suppose besides my stubborness, and inspiration from my Heavenly Father, I would have given up on being an illustrator a long time ago as a profession without your encouragement. I am not going to lie, being an artist is very fulfilling, but it is definitely not easy.
I have a new job as a crew lead for One Grounds Management, and it has been been a lot of fun, but, as anyone who has worked landscaping knows, it requires a lot of hours during the week so the art has been slowing down.
What has the crazy illustrator been up to the last few months? Mostly, spring cleaning. Trying to settle projects and prioritize what to work on in the short term. Many of you know my weakness for trying to do too much and get too excited over every new idea that pops in my head. I am really trying to slow down and focus on finishing a few select projects for the time being before moving on to new ones.
As many of you have seen my posts on facebook, one of these projects has been for Candlelight Games, LLC. They are creating a tabletop RPG (think Dungeons and Dragons) based off the game Pathfinder, and I have had the fun, and great experience to work with them on designing the artwork for their game manual, specifically on weapon and character design. This project will be going on for quite a long time, as there are multiple "races" to design.
I also was recently commissioned to be the primary artist for a start up group called FIWEA. (fire, ice, water, earth, air) They are creating a trading card game. I never played the famous card game: "Magic, the Gathering" but loved the artwork I saw in it and I was very excited to have an opportunity to do game art.
These are my two main projects, and I am currently deciding what to do for a personal project. Some of the ideas are to make a picture book, a board game, and some videos online of my work process. If you feel like, email or message me and give your input what you would like to see.
I hope I will be more diligent about updating this in the future. So as Tigger would say" TTFN, taa taa for now!"
